Text expansion is not per-seat per-month
The category default is โper user, per month.โ That is not the layout here. The purchase block has two tabs: Buyout and Cloud. The amount on the payment page wins. The table lives in Pricing.
Four cases
| You | Pick |
|---|---|
| Trying the loop, small library | Free: 50 snippets / 5 groups. FillIn, capture, OCR included |
| This machine, sync via your own Git/WebDAV | Lifetime (Buyout). Pro, no CE Cloud |
| Solo, second computer or web editing | Personal yearly (Cloud) |
| Coworkers share one pack of replies | Team seat, one per person; writing the org library needs two |
Lifetime plus Personal yearly buys transfer, not a second script license. Lifetime plus a company Team seat buys collaboration.
What does not happen automatically
- Pasting a key does not turn on Sync my snippets. The desktop switch stays off. The first enablement states that we can read bodies.
- Signing in is not Pro and not the library. The account holds profile, bound keys, invites.
- A permanent key bound to an account does not grant cloud. Yearly/monthly keys add cloud time on first claim.
- Cancelled, offline, or signed out still expands at the free local tier. Nothing remote-wipes the library.
Free GIF is 15 seconds with a watermark. Scrolling capture and OCR have daily caps. Do not map this free tier onto a competitorโs โfive active snippetsโ plan.
Do not
- Do not buy one Team seat and expect to edit the org library on the web.
- Do not read โI have an accountโ as โI am syncing.โ
- Prices move on the payment page, not on an old post.
